Couples Therapy

work with people in all different types of relationship structures (couples, polycules, open relationships, monogamous, etc) from a relational lens that respects everyone as individuals and as entangled within their partnerships and the larger world.

In addition to training in graduate school for Marriage and Family Therapy, I am a Level 1 practitioner of Relational Life Therapy (RLT), a powerful and practical approach to couple and family work developed by Terry Real. RLT focuses on uncovering the patterns that keep folks stuck, while also teaching different, respectful, and direct ways of relating.

My Style

In my work with relationships, it's important to me to:

  • Bring honesty with care - naming the dynamics that need attention while holding compassion for everyone involved.

  • Offer tools and insight - helping with practice for new ways of communicating, setting boundaries, and showing up with positive regard and vulnerability.

  • Balance support and challenge - creating space for tenderness while also guiding folks to take responsibility for their part.

  • Including the whole system - understanding that we are all shaped by family history, culture, and present-day pressures.

I know from both professional and personal experience that this work can be very challenging and deeply healing. Having been married for almost nine years, I understand the courage and persistence it takes to grow in relationship, and the transformation and connection that can become possible through this process.
